How to keep your glow in Autumn

November 2nd, 2017

Do you feel like your skin is lacking a bit of lustre ? The combination of the loss of suntan and change in to colder weather left my skin feeling rather dull!

And that’s one of the reasons I love makeup as you can give your self glow and fake it.  But I want to look good with hardly any makeup on too, so I look to my diet & skin care;

The images below are some of my favourite products for Autumn/Winter (click on image to enlarge)

I’m in LOVE with Bamford products they are probably the most luxurious thing I’ve ever put on my face ! And its organic and full of natural essential oil fragrances- heaven. I’m moving more towards organic and natural as everything we put on our skin is absorbed in to our blood stream -it just feels good too.

I also ADORE the Sukin range: slightly more affordable & the daily moisturiser is perfect as a makeup base as is the Bamford one too.  And if you are really sensitive the pink Sukin rage is divine.

A really good exfoliator is ESSENTIAL -I’ve started using my husbands (not that he knows) which is also a natural product and works really well! Equally a hot cloth or flannel to remove any traces of makeup after cleansing is ideal.

Not everything is natural – The Filorga products from M&S are great for firming , La Roche Posay & Una Brennan from Boots are both fantastic for everyday and I usually always use a mist after makeup this L’Occitane one is heavenly and gives you a lovely fresh dewy glow.

I also look at my diet- increase water intake and nourish myself with more natural and healthy foods, cut out alcohol during the week and take a few more mini breaks between jobs to just breathe (not look at my phone) and recharge! I’m also taking a few more walks & within a few weeks my skin is looking so much healthier! 🙂

Makeovers: Skin, brows and eyes

June 9th, 2016

Makeovers: Skin, brows and eyes

I’ve attached a couple of before & after makeovers on this post to show my style of makeovers- I like to keep it polished and classy;

I really like bringing out the eyes , using colours to enhance your iris shade, soft and defining liners as well as extra lashes or sometimes a natural strip lash. Also really blending out the sockets to give the illusion of wider or a more subtle depending on eye shape.

I understand base needs to last, but its important to see some skin so the right preparation and the best products are essential for a perfect canvas. And I love a contour but in real life without bright lights and photo shop less is usually better!

Brows I think have reached their peak: A strong defined brow is essential but natural looking and with softer edges so they don’t overpower the rest of your makeup .

I usually finish makeup with a pop of colour for lips and cheeks. sarah b n aMOB makeover

I charge £50 for a makeover (1 hours) at home in Cropwell Bishop , extra to travel out and £90 for a lesson (2 hours) – appointments Wednesday-Friday 8am-6pm please see my lesson page for more details .

I also do group lessons and makeup parties, please email me for more details

Makeup For The Army- Photoshoot

June 9th, 2016

commercial-makeup-15a Great to work on another shoot for the Army  this time for their website and recruitment . I love these raw natural images . Makeup was as subtle as possible enhancing natural contours, lips & brows and making sure skin was flawless yet still seeing the skin! I set the T zone with a fine loose powder and left the cheekbones free for a natural highlight. Beautiful Images by The One Off team.

Our Wedding in The South of France

July 22nd, 2015

Massive absence from blogging due to moving house and a 4 month planning of our wedding !

Along with a very busy year workwise- please check the weekly updates on my facebook page for all the details.

I thought I’d share some pictures of our wedding day. Naturally I did my own makeup, although I would have loved to had my makeup done by me-to have sat down and been pampered ! I  also did the makeup for my young niece and goddaughter on the day to treat them I just couldn’t help my self!

I asked my friend James White to do my Hair which was one of my absolute highlights. James is such a ray of sunshine, he helped me to relax, took care of the rest of my bridal party & made everybody look fabulous. With my hair piece from Poppy & White James &  Amys beautiful range of hair accessories .

Flowers were inspired by wonderful Rebecca at Floraldeco but made by Jardin D’Alice in Nice – I literally cried when they arrived they were so perfect and The arch for the ceremony and the rest of the decoration was done by Sandy at Loic at Chateau Leoube & Jadis Fleur

The wedding was at The Belles Rives Hotel in Juan Les Pins. We have had an apartment near there in Antibes for 8 years now and it was always Going to the place after I took my husband Jacques to visit! It was everything we had dreamed of including the sun coming out which was essential for our outdoor ceremony.

And fabulous photographer Lee Garland captured the day .
